    Wellbeing for Business

Improve the health, fitness and wellbeing of your employees

Are you looking after your greatest asset?

Employers are increasingly viewing health, fitness and wellbeing as an important part of their employees’ benefit package. Most people in
261employment spend 60% of their waking hours in work making the workplace a great place to promote the benefits of enjoying a healthy, active lifestyle. We work with a range of companies from sole traders through to multi-national businesses.

“Organisations that evaluate their well-being spend are more likely to have increased their  spend this year and are more likely to increase it in 2013, suggesting that the investment is  worthwhile ” CIPD 2012.

    Some facts and figures:

The CBI estimated that last year 172 million working days were lost due to absence, costing employers £13 billion.

Stress-related conditions and musculoskeletal disorders are now the most common reported causes of sickness absence from work in the UK with 10 million days lost through stress-related illness and 9.5 million days lost through musculoskeletal disorders such as back pain with an average of 17.3 days per person suffering.

Obese individuals typically take 4 extra days absence per year and those who smoke six cigarettes a day or more have a 34% higher incidence of being absent than non-smokers and a 10% higher incidence of being absent for longer.

“Ben has a very natural, friendly and interactive training style.  His continuous support over the last 5 years has helped to provide me, and many other employees at Audley, with a strong ‘can-do’ attitude which I think is half the battle when it comes to keeping fit! The feedback I have received from our employees regarding the content of the sessions and Ben’s training style has always been very positive.  I would highly recommend Ben to any other organisation who is looking at providing something similar for their employees”

Mandeep Dhillion – Human Resources Audley Travel. (Spring 2013)

“I’ve continued to use Project Active for over 12-months for my personal development on a weekly basis (missing a few here and there!). I’ve  noticed significant increases in my fitness through the body conditioning work we do.

As a result we’ve recently introduced Ben’s services to our company for our staff well-being. These sessions have allowed us to bond further as a team, providing a healthy platform to give each other encouragement and motivation, as well as taking us all out of our comfort zone occasionally (do not expect an easy ride!). Our staff love it and are vocal about getting healthier and fitter, and it’s a fantastic and affordable perk for a small business to offer. We’ve even brought in other businesses from nearby offices to join us. This develops our relationships and strengthens our network.

From a personal viewpoint, I keep fit, healthy, and enter the weekend on a high. From a business owner’s perspective, my staff feel valued and both their physical and mental improvement will only improve their personal performance to do a fantastic job.”

Alex M, MD, Zest Digital. ( Spring 2013)

“Polythene UK believes that there are benefits to encouraging our staff to start a health and fitness campaign together – not only do they support and encourage each other; by taking part, they develop a real sense of ‘team’. Project Active are the guys to provide this without doubt – Why don’t you give it a try?”

James Woollard, MD, Polythene UK. ( Spring 2013)

“Darke & Taylor have been working closely with Project Active for over a year now and the results have been really impressive.  All our employees are valued members of the team and we are very conscious of the hard work and effort they put in day in, day out. We like to provide support where we can that contributes to their health, fitness and general sense of wellbeing and the decision to engage Ben from Project Active has really paid dividends. We started with weekly spinning sessions in the company car park, but have since undertaken a whole range of activities including combat fitness, circuits, mountain biking and even a 12 hour “spinathon”. A number of staff have benefited hugely from the boost in their fitness, losing weight and gaining more energy, while the company has been able to evidence its commitment to staff wellbeing… read more
