    Personal Training

Wherever you are with your health and fitness, from taking the first step to optimising your sports performance, a personal trainer is just what you need to take it to the next level.

Project Active personal trainers will create the fun, determination, courage and motivation to help you achieve the results you want – nothing is impossible! The benefits of a one-to-one or small group workout mean we can tailor programmes specifically to meet your goals, so that you use your time to maximum efficiency. Our trainers will motivate you to push past those self-imposed limits, encouraging you to challenge yourself more than you would on your own. You may even find hidden strengths you never knew you had, which can motivate you even more. All Project Active trainers can be found on the Register of Exercise Professionals.

Whatever your goal, our approach will lay the foundations for a healthy, fit body so that you look good and feel good.

“Since starting personal training I have realised that it ensures that you do one hour of highly focused training including the right quantity and difficulty of each of the weight and aerobic exercises that you need to achieve your objectives. This is not a feeling I used to get after an hour in the gym, where I would generally make it up as I went along.” –  Craig B, Oxford.

    We bring everything to you

We will bring all the equipment you need to achieve your goals and by coming to you we make the most of your time. Starting from a baseline assessment we review targets and progress regularly, mixing up the equipment and activities so that you keep motivated, fresh and focused.

Although the majority of our clients sees us individually, we recognise that for some people training with others can add to the enjoyment and helps the pocket. We offer personal training to groups of up to four people. If you haven’t got the space, don’t worry, we can meet you in your local park in the fresh Oxfordshire air!

    For Special Occasions

If you are looking to tone up and shed those excess pounds in preparation for a wedding, a holiday, a job interview or another special occasion, let us help you achieve your goals. We can develop an intensive programme to make sure you feel confident and look great.

“My main aim was to try and improve my core stability as I have a weak lower back, as well as to tone up for my wedding! I would highly recommend Ben; it was no mean feat to ensure I felt great in my wedding dress and that my back survived my heels! Excellent, professional first-class service” Mrs Sarah G, Bicester.

    For Sport/Activity Specific Training

After an analysis of your specific needs, your trainer will identify what muscle groups, actions and components of fitness are involved in your chosen sport and integrate this into your programme design. So, whether it’s enhancing your race day performance or simply making life easier when running for a bus, everyone can benefit from this type of training.

“Personal training sessions have provided me with with the technique and knowledge of how I can get the most out of my gym sessions and improve in the areas I am working on. As I play hockey on a regular basis, we focus on the techniques and areas of my body that I use most frequently and I have certainly seen a vast improvement – not only on the pitch but also in my energy levels both at work and throughout the day.  – Richard D, Chipping Norton.

    Ante and Post Natal

Keeping active and fit gives you the greatest chance of an enjoyable, safe birth. Our qualified antenatal and postnatal fitness trainers will help you maintain good health, flexibility and fitness for the duration of your pregnancy; working on core strength, pelvic floor and the lower back with gentle exercises and stretches. We can also help you return to fitness at a healthy and safe pace to get that pre-baby figure once again.

“Ben is understanding of the fact that I have a small child and often have disturbed sleep and he might arrive with me feeling very tired but we work through the session at a pace that is tough but manageable. It is a real luxury to have a personal trainer come to the house but it is now the last luxury I would give up as it is such a positive in my life!!” – Carole W, Swinbrook

    GP Referrals

As registered GP Exercise Referral Consultants our trainers are authorised to work hand-in-hand with GPs and physiotherapists to prescribe safe and beneficial exercise plans for their referred patients. If you experience hypertension, or suffer from osteoporosis, diabetes, asthma or another medical condition we can develop a programme for you.

    Return from injury or illness

Be safe in the knowledge that we have probably encountered your condition before and so are familiar with taking the steps needed to
design a safe and effective fitness plan for you. We can liaise with your physiotherapist or doctor to keep them fully informed of your fitness programme and your progress.

“I started PT just after I had an operation on my knee. Without the intensive re-hab work that we did together I am convinced I would not have made a full and strong recovery. A few months after the operation I even started jogging and completed the Reading half marathon!  – Sally C, Witney.
